E-Learning Privacy Policy

The server used for providing the E-Learning platform of Limes Security GmbH (hereinafter referred to as Limes Security) processes the data that is entered by users or that is automatically generated during use from the time of registration as a user. In the following, we provide information about the type and scope of the collection of personal data and the way in which it is further processed.

Limes Security operates a learning management system (hereinafter referred to as LMS). The LMS collects and processes personal data. This data is used to carry out the teaching and learning processes supported by the LMS. The individualization and transparency of teaching-learning interactions are of great importance in didactic processes. They enable the individual learning processes of each user to be supported and evaluated. Digitally supported teaching-learning processes therefore necessarily produce individual data that can be viewed by the training instructors and the administration. This includes

  1. data entered during registration (e.g. user profile).
  2. data that is retrieved with authentication. Authentication takes place with the login via password and user name. As part of this authentication, data that users have already provided (surname, first name, email address) is retrieved.
  3. data generated by the use of the Limes Security LMS, such as the time of access to the training offering. This data is logged in a database and stored for as long as it is required for the use of the LMS.
  4. data generated by user activities within the LMS trainings. The scope and type of data logged depends on the design of the individual course. For example, the following are logged: type and time of solving task, learning content completed, knowledge checks carried out, contributions to forums and participation in workshops. In the case of surveys that are not expressly marked as “anonymous”, the survey results can be associated with the user.

This data is accessible to the administration of the LMS, partly to the users themselves, partly to their superiors and partly to those responsible for the respective trainings. They are used exclusively for the administration and use of the LMS. We reserve the right to statistically evaluate the data records in order to optimize the LMS and its content.

The user can object to the storage and/or processing of their data at any time. Their data will then be deleted immediately and it will no longer be possible to use the E-Learning platform. Contributions published by users in the LMS in forums, wikis, chats, blogs, journals etc. are exempt from deletion. Files provided by the users themselves remain available until the respective training is deleted.

This privacy policy does not apply to external links that are offered on the LMS website. Limes Security has no influence on compliance with data protection and security regulations by other providers.
