Edutainment: OT security training that is entertaining and sustainable
/ˌɛdjʊˈteɪnm(ə)nt/
Our edutainment services combine education and entertainment to convey cyber security topics in an engaging and understandable way. By using interactive and entertaining methods, we create a learning environment that is not only informative, but also enjoyable and motivating. Our aim is to make learning a positive experience that will inspire and leave a lasting impression on your employees.
"The 0 Downtime workshop was very effective in engaging and challenging our top management to better understand the cybersecurity risks of our organization and their crucial role for better preparedness and incident response. I believe it was a definite success to bring cybersecurity awareness and culturalization to EDPD. I am a fan of 0 Downtime!"

Zero Downtime: Blackout Edition
The simulation game "Zero Downtime: Blackout Edition Game" offers a unique opportunity to learn about important security measures and concepts in a fun and novel way. As each individual is involved in this team-based experience, the learning content is strongly and positively remembered.
Participants learn how to apply effective countermeasures against security threats and understand the effects and consequences of certain security measures.
The “Guided Hacking Workshop” offers a practical introduction to the world of OT security and can be held remotely, on-site or in hybrid form for up to 90 people.
Each of the available modules includes both a technical demonstration and a theoretical introduction to the relevant topics and lasts two to three hours on average.
The tasks in the modules are carried out individually by the participants. All that is required is a notebook with a browser and Internet access.
The workshop can be held in either English or German. If required, the participants can also be divided into two groups in order to conduct the workshop bilingually.
Available modules
Multi-staged remote access kill chain with the topics:
- Remote access
- Jump Hosts
- Plain text protocols
OT protocols with the topics:
- Focus on Siemens 300 and S7comm
- Attacks on pressure drums – Modbus
- Manipulate programming
Quizzes and games
The Limes Academy offers two exciting and interactive formats that sensitize your employees to cyber security topics in an entertaining way.
Interactive Quiz Game (ABC Game)
The ABC Game offers an entertaining and captivating way to convey basic security concepts. This format is ideal for live onsite events with a high number of visitors or with a “trade fair character”. One run lasts approx. 10 minutes and can be played by 5-8 people on site.
The participants answer questions by standing in front of one of the three letters (A, B, C) assigned to the possible answers. The correct letter lights up to reveal the answer.
The game is also suitable for beginners and can be flexibly integrated into the event schedule.
Security Pub Quiz
The Security Pub Quiz includes a variety of “nerdy” and security-related questions that guarantee both knowledge and fun. The pub quiz is designed for up to 60 people – if your premises are designed for more people, the number of participants can also be increased. The quiz can be held both remotely and on site. The game lasts around 3 hours.
The questions can be customized and tailored to the needs of your group to provide a tailor-made experience.
Hacking demonstrations and simulations
Experience cyber security up close with our “hacking demonstrations” edutainment service. These tailor-made demonstrations and simulations are perfect for events and functions and provide an unforgettable “aha” experience. Hacking demonstrations are the ideal complement to presentations or workshops and are professionally prepared, provided and carried out by us.
The outline is individually tailored to your requirements. Thanks to comprehensive expertise from numerous projects and the extensive portfolio of the Limes Academy, we can draw on our experience for the development of customized edutainment solutions.
Examples of this are demonstrations that illustrate complex security concepts and live hacking demonstrations that make the methods, techniques and effects of cyber attacks tangible.
These demonstrations and simulations offer valuable insights into the world of cyber security and can be flexibly adapted to your needs. Inspire your participants with interactive and educational experiences that will remain in their memories for a long time.
Expert knowledge for events
Take advantage of our extensive expertise for your events, such as workshops, webinars, lectures, panel discussions or other formats. These can also be enriched with additional edutainment services such as quizzes or demonstrations, which increase participant engagement and convey the content even more vividly. With our professional expertise, we ensure that your event is both informative and appealing.
- Relevant cyber security standards, norms and laws such as NIS2, IEC 62243, CRA, MVO, RED and more.
- Organizational and technical topics from the field of OT security
- Product & Solution Security and other topics for the secure development and implementation of products
- Specialized areas of cyber security such as risk management. Cyber security trends, status quo in cyber security.
Capture The Flag (CTF) for OT
The OT-CTF (Capture the Flag) is an exciting and interactive way for participants to test and improve their OT security skills by solving tasks (known as challenges).
The OT-CTF follows the Jeopardy style: participants solve tasks from different categories. The team receives points for each task solved – the more difficult the task, the higher the score. In some cases, tasks are unlocked in a logical order so that new challenges only become available after previous ones have been solved. In the end, the total number of points decides the winner.
The OT-CTF is played in teams of up to 4 people or as an individual. The challenges can be mastered in both German and English.
The period in which the OT-CTF is available can be designed flexibly and individually – from a compact evening event to a multi-day challenge over an entire week, at the end of which a winner is chosen.
The OT-CTF can be held completely remotely, on site or in hybrid form for up to 100 people. All you need to participate is a notebook with a browser and internet access.
There are challenges in the following subject areas:
- Introduction
- Exploitation
- Password Cracking
- OT protocols
- Wireshark analysis
