“Security for Safety” topic at this year’s NFEA conference in Oslo

Critical automation and control systems were isolated in the plants for a long time. Now the industry is facing the challenge of protecting the increasingly networked systems, some of which are also connected to the Internet.

Norwegian companies are facing the challenge of preventing threats in their critical infrastructures and automation systems. The NFEA conference in Oslo offers a good opportunity to learn about the “how”. This year’s conference focuses in particular on “Security for Safety” and attempts to demonstrate that systems previously assumed being safe, are not secure, thanks to new technologies.

In addition to talks on the IEC 62443 standard, our Managing Director Prof. Brandstetter will give an insight into the role of building technology as part of industrial factories and sites and present which security issues need to be tested and addressed.

NFEA – Norwegian Society of Electric and Automatic Control – supports the Norwegian industry in networking, developing skills and increasing competitiveness. The NFEA organizes national trainings, conferences and seminars on important technology areas.
